I love this place. Good home cooking and friendly people. It reminds me of the way things were when I was a kid. Hard to find good homemade food and service like this anymore. I eat here every chance I get.

This cafe was nice and clean. Our waiter who was a young boy was absolutely great at checking in on us. The food was delicious and very filling. We will be back every time we visit.

I live in Bayview, so you would think I eat at this restaurant all the time, right? It's the closest place to my house, after all. However, I can get food from the local Stripe's gas station just 5 minutes further out that is just as satisfying, without the rude woman owner and without having to deal with smokers. The service is unfriendly, and it's one of the few places in the Southern RGV that still has that old tobacco smell that really revs up the appetite. I dined there once in August 2015, and in the wise words of The Critic, it was not a pleasant experience. If they eliminated the smoking section, I might consider giving it another chance.
