Bidrage med feedbackThis is a little hidden gem. We were attracted by its authentic Portuguese menu on the street of the restaurant on the Rua Candido dos Reid. At the time the street was busy, but we noticed that they had a closed terrace area at the back of the enclosed restaurant. We decided to feed there. Even if you do not walk the street scene with the possibility to go in the people watching mode, you will get an exclusive rather well maintained dining area on the terrace to enjoy your meal. The menu was extensive with many authentic Portuguese menu choices. The wine selection was good, and the waiter had a fantastic control English and a great ability to inform about all dishes. We had a selection of appetizers, including some lush olives and a rich sardine pate. I had seen the octopus Portuguese style, and my wife had the fresh sea bass, which was butterflied and cooked in a rich butter garlic and olive oil. Absolutely top-class.
The Picanha was perfectly cooked and generous portion, although a thin cut and delicate steak. Served next to Feijao and rice with a salad I did not mean hungry for the rest of the day. Prawns were served in a delicious garlic butter. The fish fingers for the little one were also perfectly cooked. After a few misses on wine elsewhere, we were glad to have a decent glass of rose. Only reviews (if they can be called) are more of a sports bar vibe (music TVs), but this is up to personal taste. Also, the card machine did not work on the day we visited, but similar to other places we visited this day.
Great food and service. The waiter recommended the wine that was good. We had to start Calamari, which was very fresh and melted in the mouth. Octopus and lamb for main. Both excellent. The food was amazing! Very recommended.
I love cod and by far Easy Bar has the best cod ever. It’s a different cut than other restaurants. It’s thick and grilled and seasoned to perfection. My wife and I enjoyed a bottle of green wine and line it. For a second entree, we asked our waiter Daniel god his recommend and he suggested the Portuguese Steak special sauce, fires, egg so, so great. All around best meal in Portugal. Reasonably priced calamari appetizer, steak entree, cod entree, great bottle of wine, and an additional glass of wine less than 70 Euro. Fantastic. Highly recommend.
We sat outside on a nice cool evening. My wife asked to move seats closer to the heater and it started raining right after and soaked our first table (good to move : My wife had the salmon kebab and enjoyed it I had the Portuguese steak with egg and fries. The egg and fries were great but the steal was VERY tough and VERY raw. Our server was kind and attentive and did a good job...in the rain.
