Dos Artistas - Lagos

We chose the Chef's Menu, and the quality and presentation were outstanding. The best we have eaten in Portugal to date. The staff were conscientious, and the attention to detail made the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside, and I must mention this for disabled clients is the WC is up on the first floor accessed via a flight of stone stairs. The ambience in the outside dining area is magical, and we are already planning our next dining experience.

Lovely décor, contemporary Portuguese cuisine. Have had dinner here a few times but were disappointed with our last visit. For my main I ordered the risotto bergamont with asparagus and it was rather tasteless, lukewarm and the risotto runny. For my main I had the turbot with pistachio passionfruit which was a bit on the dryside and again didn’t taste like much. Needed some spices to give it some umph. Our dinner companions also felt that their meals lacked flavour, spices. Over all food was okay but not great. As well my partner was served the wrong main course and had to wait quite a while to get the meal he ordered. When it finally came as we were all being served dessert his Black Tiger Prawns were still raw and inedible. He had to send it back. Because of their initial mix up it would have taken too long to prepare a 3rd main course as everyone else had finished their meals so he unfortunately ended up going home hungry and unhappy. When we brought up the problems with his meal the restaurant felt it was enough that they didn’t charge him for the main course. In my opinion a poor response for their poor service. Doubt we will spend our money here as there are many equally good if not better restaurants in Lagos with better food and definitely better customer service.

I want to call out the great service. I had told them it was our anniversary when I made the reservation. So they decorated our table, served us a free drink to start, and added special touches to our dessert. We had the tasting menu that evening, and it gave a us a chance to try great food we did not find anywhere else. A really lovely evening.

Embora você possa comer barato em Lagos, este lugar valeu a pena. Tivemos os menus de 5 pratos. Tudo estava tão bom. A equipe foi muito atenciosa e amigável. Amei

Gastei uma quantia considerável nos menus de degustação (Jardim e Chef's) e as combinações de sabores simplesmente não estavam lá. Meu macarrão estava cozido demais, pedi para trocar e infelizmente veio novamente cozido demais e também esqueceram as trufas no segundo prato. Elogio o esforço no atendimento. Eles realmente têm ambição, mas infelizmente ficaram aquém na comida.
