Sushi Don - Lafayette

Sushi Don used to be one of my favorite sushi restaurants in town, then Covid happened. They then took away most of the indoor seating, and had coolers where you can choose what you wanted. Quality was not great, but not horrible. I went in the other day, it’s back to dine in. I was so disappointed in the quality of my rolls. The rice on the rolls was completely over cooked, and the rolls were mediocre at best. The service is different now as well, you take your menu to your table then go back to the front to order. I’m not sure if this is due to lack of staff, or convenience for them. There were several patrons who seemed confused by this, not just me. I hope they can get back to the quality of sushi I loved, but I won’t be returning for now.

Great food friendly people, weird setup inside dining though.. They will give you a menu and tell you to sit down and decide, then tell you to bring your menu back up and order.. Then go back to your table. Also on a 97 degree July afternoon no air conditioning.. Dining in quickly changed to carryoutFood: 5/5

I have tried most of the menu. The food is ALWAYS great. I can't say enough good things. I love the food and the people. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner Don today. He is great guy that treats his staff and customers with kindness and positivity. I think we could all use more of that! Thanks to all that made my delicious Poke bowl today. K-town Spicy is where it's at!

First time coming to Sushi Don and the staff was really nice. The Korean style chicken for the appetizer was fresh and the sushi wasn’t bad either. Would recommend to other friends to try it out as well!

I was in Lafayette for business I live an hour away and ordered to go. The girl at the register didn't seem like she knew what she was doing so when I ordered I stood next to her and pointed at the item I wanted while saying it at the same time. AND, they tried telling me that sashimi is sushi with rice, my first red flag. So, I sat there for 45 minutes waiting for my order without them even offering me something to drink, and then when I got home I got some kind of salad with soggy bread in it I found out by the receipt it's called a dragon bowl but I ordered a dragon ROLL. I don't know who made the dragon bowl a thing but it was terrible.I have informed my friends that do travel through Lafayette frequently to never stop there. Horrible place. BTW, my total was over $100.
