I am from Lawtell and had visited many families in Eunice so frequently for their smoked meat and bounty. I live now in Lafayette and work in downtown and when I found out that they opened a shop in Lafayette La, I had to go. I'm visiting a lot now. I grew up with Johnson's bounty since I was young and grew up in Eunice. Johnson's Boucaniere offers the best smoked meats and bounty in the Lafayette area! They must try their country style ribs because they are phenomenal.

This place is the real deal! Not unusual or pretentious. The word of the mouth is growing more and more. Your menu is creative. The foods are amazing and based on traditional local fare. I wish they could fill and sell the food and smokehouse smell! I recommend chatting Mr. Wallace (Johnson) when he takes your order, he's a real Hoot and a treasure. You will learn something new about the good ol' days in Eunice and surroundings when you ask. He is also a box historian and a painter/artist. I can't say enough about my favorite place in Acadiana.

On the other day there was an early cup of coffee! The staff was particularly professional and made me feel at home. At the end I stayed up as long as I tried the Boudin and it was the best around Lafayette and the surroundings! A must stop if you didn't try... You will be impressed
