Bidrage med feedbackWe've eaten here for years, and always found the food to be decent, and the service always great. Today was horrible. We saw two couples sat 5 to 10 minutes after us. We were served our drinks, and the waitress said she would be right back to get our order. We saw her go to the other two tables, and take their orders. I called her over, and told her we were here way before them. She responded by saying they were ready to order. I told her we've been ready for 20 minutes. Even after knowing this, she still brought their orders out first. All would have been forgiven if she would have made sure we were taken care of first. The one couple was done, and given their check before we received our food. I usually get the French Dip which has always been served on a 9 to 10 inch hoagie roll as stated on the menu. I was very disappointed when it arrived on a hamburger bun, and half the size of normal. It was also disgusting to see a young lady covered in hickies. Get some make up, and cover them. GEEEZZZ. I had to force myself to leave a 5% tip, but I felt sorry for her. She had no clue about customer service. I hope to see a response, and hope they get this corrected.
Wow. Stopped in not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly pleased. Small town pub, and bar food. Menu varied from burgers and dogs to seafood fettuccine. We ordered burgers and wow, hand patted burgers that were cooked just right. Very juicy and tasty. I got mine with LTMO and you really didn't need anything on them they were so good. We came in the middle of the afternoon so not busy at all. Place looks like an old saloon, you can definitely tell it's been here a while. Will we be back. Yes we will. They have kareoke and lots of beer special. We will have to come and check it out on a Saturday night. I give it 4.5 stars for everything, just a little pricey on the food a burger and fries was 9.45 then the tea, but yeh it was worth it.
UPDATE! We were in on a Friday night and the place was hopping. The bar was full with locals coming and going and the dining room stayed full but there never was a wait. We were greeted and seated promptly and our drink orders were taken. We ordered a basket of onion rings as an appetizer (stellar, homemade but heavy) Our food came uncharacteristically fast and was prepared just right and delicious. The server kept us in tea and checked on us appropriately. Overall, it was a very good visit. The table was clean but I did not go to the bathroom, so I can't report on that. Since my last review, I have had the following: double dipped wings (excellent), Reuben (again probably my favorite excellent), french fries (very good), black bean veggie burger (excellent), sweet potato fries (excellent), chef salad (excellent), peanut butter pie (divine) This is the coolest place around, and I think maybe you have to go more than once to truly appreciate its charm. It's the perfect place to sink into a laid back vibe and just relax and have a drink or two, or just enjoy a nice meal from a wide selection of delectable offerings. Pendleton is lucky to have the Islander, and I hope it will be around for a long time to come.
Service a little slow at lunch, ordered a philly and it was nothing special. Not a lot on it. Waitress was nice, good place to stop but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
The Islander is gone and now open under the name Blue Herron the new menu is great and so is the food and staff.
