Bidrage med feedbackAt first, my impression here will be... Ugh! My money will not be enough. This is a shrimp store, so what to expect from here? (That 's not the exact words, but that 's the thought that I 'm thinking before eating here hahaha .So to start with, the place is quite small (all restaurants in Tuscany are small and not that very unique. As for the menu, its very simple and the food is stated as it is. I kinda wonder how the food is served here since I haven;t eaten is a restaurant where shrimps/seafood are the protagonists of my main course. We simple order a bag of shrimp, Bag-O-Momma for the flavor with Mild spiciness and a bad of mussels, Garlic and Butter for the flavor with same spicy level. So, when the food is served (it actually takes us 20 mins before we are presented with the gloves, rice and the food itself which is served in a metal pail , the smell of the food is very overwhelming. It will really make you eat the whole meal because of a very delicious taste. We are instructed that we may eat with our bare hands and the rice may be eaten on the paper (placed on top of our table which is somewhat new to me for a restaurant like this. But, I still eat with gloves and start to enjoy this boodle-fight style of eating. As for the shrimp, it was so awesome and the spiciness that we choose suits well on the shrimp. But the real winner for me is the garlic butter flavor of the mussels because of its addicting taste and you can actually eat with the sauce alone (mix it with rice and tentenenenten buuurrrrp! The only thing that I hate on the menu is that the rice costs 40 pesos per piece (I don 't know if this is reasonable since their rice is very sticky and compact but all in all, this is a place that I can go back anytime I crave for shrimp.
Bag O' Shrimps is perfect for everyone longing to go to Dampa for fresh catch but don't want themselves to get dirty with the wet market. Bag O' Shrimps serves fresh seafood daily, and you can actually tell how good the quality of each ingredient is, especially the heart of their menu, seafood. The simple menu gives each customer a peek at how everything runs in the place. Simple, no nonsense, just good ole' seafood dishes with special homemade secret recipes, and whole lot of love. I'm giving this place a lot of praises because I really had a lot of fun there. I'm a big fan of crabs, and really particular with how my seafood is prepared, so that says a lot. I got to try the garlic butter blend for the crab, and I'm telling you, if I wasn't on a diet, I would have eaten the whole bag. We also had a bag of their signature shrimps in Bag O' Mama, it wasn't my favorite, but it was good nonetheless, and perfect for anyone who likes a blend of spices, with hints of tangy and sweet. Basically Bag o' mama is a mixture of all the flavors Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter, and Cajun. I have yet to try Lemon Pepper and Cajun, but I highly recommend Garlic Butter. For the appetizers, I loved the Crab Bomb Sticks. A twist to your typical Dynamite, it includes a piece of crabstick, and the cheese just brings it all together. As the usual with stuffed chili, sometimes you get that one which is incredibly spicy, and other times no spice at all, so this is tricky if you don't like spicy food. I would also recommend the Sweet Potato Fries, thinly cut, and very slightly seasoned, I kept eating until we finished the basket. I loved that the fries were crispy and kept the integrity of the flavor of sweet potato. The fried oysters are good too. You can taste the freshness of the oysters, and they were really juicy inside that crispy batter. Everything's great to pair with beer, so make sure you check out their beer selections at the fridge near the entrance. Stella Artois worked well with what I ate. For the ambiance, a look at the ceiling and you would be reminded of a fisherman's wharf, great for keeping that Dampa feeling through. The seats are cozy, and i love that pipe details on the tables. The place is great for both families and friends, but I would prefer to have friends over there. It's also a place where you can actually leave a mess, so bring your friends, eat your heart out, and make fun of each other's mess after eating. : For a lengthier review, check out [hidden link] : P.S. Eat with your hands! It gives everyone a better #BOSexperience
We enjoyed our food specially the seafoods we had. It was freshly cooked during our visit, I also loved their sweet potato fries and dynamite. Additionally, it was uncrowded and we enjoyed the place specially the food. Though we waited a bit longer before they were able to served our food, nonetheless, it was a great experience.
Had dinner with my co-workers here. We ordered a set not on the menu for around 1200. It had a pound of bag o momma shrimp, 250 grams of mussels and clams, corn, sausage, 3 iced tea, and 3 rice. We also availed the booky promo, sweet potato fries and the dynamite. First, the fries and dynamite was okay but not worth ordering the next time. The seafood was average in size and not really the OMG it's so fresh reaction. But the sauce was really good. It has the perfect balance of garlic and butter. The sausage was a good addition for when you get overwhelmed by the seafood taste. The experience made it special, with you having to shake the bag, eat it on the table with your hands.
Shrimps are my favorite! Small but cozy place. Parking is a bit challenging. My boss brought us here and we really enjoyed the food and companionship. I will definitely come back here one of these days.
