Bidrage med feedbackMarket days in La Seu d 'Urgell are Saturdays and Tuesdays and we enjoyed the marvelous experience on a Saturday in May. The icing on the cake was a visit to this bar for tapas ... Freshly cooked chicken croquettas and calamari a la Romana (as tender as they conme), pork cheek, the epitome if Catalan cuisine, salt cod fried up into deliciousness, morsels of pigs ear... We had a feast! A real, authentic, market experience! They have a restaurant too. Staff busy but efficient. Beware, the reason I say tapas in quotes is that the portion sizes are pretty heafty. Big plus is you can see most of the tapas food on the bar counter so you only need to point!
We stopped for an early lunch at this great La Seu institution. Classics are the galtes (pork or beef cheeks), calamari a la Romana, fried cod and tripe If you want a rwal taste of Catalunya, try this lovely bar/restaurant.
Local cafe. Not fine dining but real honest to goodness fresh food, excellent value and excellent service. Don't miss it. We ate in three places in our three days in La Seu the Parador, Ignasi and this one which overall provided the most satisfactory experience.
