Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant was our first meal in France. Little English is spoken here, but a few smiles laugh and a little mime meant that we had no problem communicating with the friendly locals. Our party of 5 had mixed opinions about the food, but this had more to do with personal taste than the food itself. The portions were large and significant, and it was very busy mainly to serve local people. It was cheap and good value. I would recommend this as a place for large portions of good, honest local fare.
I repeat the other two English-speaking reviews, although the word must be spread because there are four women in and a young family when we have visited. But the majority is still local workers. We did not sit on the way to Hornfleur to an expensive tourist trap. We sat at a table with a bottle of cider, red wine and water and we realized that they were included but had only the wine and the water. Good home cooked food in the lunch menu. Choice or cold starter, choice of two nets, even serve cheese and then desert. We were full for the rest of the day. We talked to the couple on the next table (our pigeons French to their pigeons English) and were half an hour longer than planned. Very friendly place and we recommend it..

This is a local focal point frequented by long distance lorry drivers and locals, that said, it has the most welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is family run and they are the most hospitable people that I have met. English is understood, although a little knowledge of French is appreciated and even encouraged, and even taught to much amusement .... The food is wholesome and freshly cooked, the wine or cider is free flowing .... On the table so help yourself. As has been said before it is a set menu which was most enjoyable. A very pleasant evening spent, so much so we went back the next night. Can't recommend highly enough.
We were recommended this bistro by the manager of our accommodation. He told us it was not fancy and would be full of truck drivers and my wife would most likely be the only woman there. He was right. The place was full of male truck drivers who were all there for the food. It is a set menu. They bring out a tray of starters, of which you pick one. Then you have a choice of two mains and sides, then a course of cheese and salad, then dessert. All this plus wine and cider and coffee for €11.50 a person. The food was fantastic, genuine french bistro food, big serves and a great friendly atmosphere. Unbeatable.
