Venta El Gomero - La Orotava

We’ve had wonderful tapa’s experiences in Spain but were put off by feeling like we were imposing on the proprietor who was slow to seat us and service that followed was disappointing. We wanted to point to tapas we would have enjoyed but this wasn’t encouraged. Calamari we ordered was greasy and tomato aioli was tasteless. Total was 22.10€ w/ 2 large beers but we would have drunk more and eaten better if this had been a convivial place.

I stumbled upon this wonderful place and literally whooped with joy when I noticed they were selling wines from my favourite Tenerife winery..Suertes del marqués, I swept up a Vidonia 2019.. at a very reasonable price.. I had a grilled octopus with some garlicky paprika sauce.. they offered me some sticks of cheese from Gran Canaria which was like a parmesan. In my opinion don't kill me cheese specialists.. then I had some bbq goat cheese with mojo.. very good and the finished with home made tiramisu..I was so blown away by this joyful meal.. with charming friendly delightful service.. I left and got on the bus going the wrong direction.. always a sign of a good meal..

Lively place with good, interesting food and nice wine. Almogrote was well worth trying, as were the chipirones with potatoes.

Fuimos a conocer el pueblo de Orotava y visitando y paseando pasamos por la tasca Venta el Gomero!! Después de realizar la guia turística y visitamos todo Orotava al llegar la hora de comer empezamos a buscar y nos llamó la atención de la Tasca Venta El Gomero!! Decidimos de ir a comer ayi y nos sorprendió muchísimos. El servicio de 10 atentos a cada detalle, te informan lo que está afuera de carta y esos pinchos riquísimos. Pedimos un vino, queso frito con miel de palma y gofio, pincho de almogrote UN ESPECTACULO BUENISIMO) ,carne de fiesta. Lo aconsejo a todo el mundo visitar este sitio es INCREIBLE. Y nos llevamos productos como el mojo picón, el mojo verde, almagrote y la miel de palma 100% de calidad. GRACIAS!!

Un gran acierto. La camarera encantadora y nos ha recomendado muy bien. No os perdáis la ropita vieja, el bichillo, y la tarta de tres leches. La comida con un sabor increíble.
