Su Casa Mexican Restaurant - La Jolla

The ambience of the place is definitely great. The food is good, not exceptional, but definitely good. Prices are higher than your average place. Drinks and desserts are great, they were my favorite feature.

Su Casa is a La Jolla gem! My family has been here since the 1960s when they have a harp player in the bar. We have celebrated many important moments of life behind the big doors I can remember, always amazed by the big Alaska crab on the wall, the sweet little model carousel and the large, colorful fish tank in the dining room. Especially playing with the old ship engine control with all my cousins when we were kids. Everyone who served us over the years was always as friendly, generous and always treated us like family. You have to offer our sponges filled with some of the best Mexican food San Diego. I will miss these delicious, crispy chicken frogs and Gooey Jalapeños Poppers! We're all so sad that they have to close their doors permanently. But we are grateful for the eternal memories that we all hold close and love to our hearts.

We loved the "flagged" dishes, were there during Mexico independence day.

We ate here once and went for the happy hour, two very different experiences. I'd say 5 stars to the food and the staff. Very good Mexican food at reasonable prices. The nachos were delicious and left us very full. As for Happy Hour, I recommend finding another place. We arrived and were told you can only make happy hours when you sit at the bar (which seats about 7 people in total). The Happy Hour Margarita is prefabricated and poured from a beverage hose. It was definitely lukewarm and turns the whole happy hour into a shame. Bottom line, dinner, but not for Happy Hour!

This was a wonderful find. A local friend suggested visiting here and I understand why. It has a nicely authentic atmosphere and the service was fast, efficient, and friendly. We didn't want for anything. The margaritas were incredible and the food was flavorful and tasty. If you are in the area and looking for good food and a solid experience, give this place a try. You won't regret it.
