For international travelers I would recommend this place for a really good, moderately priced, traditional local cuisine. it is advisable to book their table before going. the place is guided by a few and they can physically not treat more than 30 people. few families with small children. we noticed some Dutch tourists. the 20 Euro menu was very demanding and delicious. this restaurant also offers amazing crepes. hoping this review will help them. I really hope they will enjoy this comfortable, traditional and affordable restaurant.
We visited this beautiful small restaurant directly at the marketplace twice during our holiday. at both locations my wife and I had very good three cursor times. the small garden terrace is the perfect place on a hot day. the menu changes daily and. is always cooked to house and delicious. at the first opportunity I had steak poivre with fries that just cooked correctly, medium rare without being pale. no fat or gristle. at the second opportunity I had hug in a mushroom sauce with pasta gratin on the side. every day there is a selection of 3 starters and an even larger selection of whisper. the cos of the 3 courses is only 12 euro, which is an excellent value.
Took the entree + plat offer and the food was good. I had the lamb and the meat was sooo tender. Came right off the bone. The menu is uncomplicated and of great value. We were all quite satisfied with what we had albeit a little too ambitious. We could've have only had the starters as the portions are quite decent.
We very often drive from the Pyrenees to northern Europe and Brinon-sur-Sauldre is about half our way. It is a lovely, quiet town and La Solognote is a charming place to stay. This time we had a friend with children with us. The restaurant has a very good deal for kids, they get smaller portions of the menu at a very good price. The food is excellent, with many local products, and also very good wines on the menu. Also the rooms are very comfortable with well equipped bathrooms.
