Restaurante Tramonti - La Dorada

We met as family to celebrate a University graduation in the family. It was the perfect place, never rushed, always cordial and perfect service. And the view of the city, just perfect.

The spectacular view of the north of Bogota is the trademark of this restaurant. Of course with the good food and service you will pay the price. Not easy to get to or out of. But is one of the only two restaurants with a spectacular view the other being San Isidro.

I don’t know why some people say the service is bad or the food was cold, but that certainly wasn’t our experience! We had a big family dinner with my wife’s family and it was fairly busy. We waited a little while, but not out of line for a big restaurant. You can certainly get your food faster at McDonalds, but would you take your family there? I’ve been to quite a few restaurants in Bogotá and this was by far the best. The food is spectacular, the ambience is among the best, and the views are spectacular! If you are visiting Bogotá, or if you have lived there for your entire life, do yourself a favor and get reservations!

Went here on April 9, 2022 for our wedding rehearsal dinner. Completely regret it as soon as we walked in. They literally took over 45 minutes to sit us down. After that, another 45 minutes to get water poured in glasses! Food took over three hours. The service was just terrible, had to almost scream to be able to get some attention from a server. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND sometime to come here. This was an absolute disaster and disappointment. It ruined our rehearsal dinner night. I wish I would have booked somewhere else.

This restaurant is a “must do”, specially if you are visiting Bogota as a tourist. Having lived in Bogota for the majority of our lives, we have known the Tramonti for many years, this time we were in town visiting for the holidays and wanted a special place to have lunch with my parents. This was the best choice, if you want a wonderful meal, while enjoying the most amazing view of the city, this is the perfect place! Carolina, our server, was fantastic; the food was incredible, we had a steak, the mussels and empanadas as appetizer, the “papas criollas” that come as side dish are yummy and their house dessert with melting chocolate was to die for! We highly recommend it not only for locals but for tourists who can have an amazing experience! Look forward to going back next time we are in town!
