Bidrage med feedbackI am half Japanese, visited Japan many times and lived / worked in Tokyo for a few years, so I would say that I have one thing or two about Japanese food that I have been living in Bogota for several years and forever for a good authentic Japanese restaurant here and the best I could come is Hatsuhana that I like for Shabu Shabu. I'm really happy that I found this place because this has for the most part the everyday Japanese food of the kind you don't find in an expensive restaurant in Tokyo. In Japan, most restaurants are specialized in a dish, but this has a great variety and I am not sure what its speciality is. Today I had Katsu Don and it was good. The only thing that was strange was the flat dish that it served in instead of the traditional deeper bowl. I'm really curious about the Unagi Don because it's quite expensive for Colombia and more expensive than what it would cost in Japan. Maybe they use Aal grown up from the wilderness instead of farm. Anyway, I want to try the next time.
I spent two years in Bogota before I discovered this wonderful family business. The authentic Japanese food is coupled by an excellent friendly service! Really enjoyed our meals here and it is much cheaper than the chic Sushi restaurants throughout the city. Very recommended!
Thought it was a real Japanese restaurant, as most waitresses are Japanese ladies. Ordnete Toufu, spinach with sesame, oyako don and tempura udon, Toufu was good, spinach way too sweet with a strange sauce, oyako don with no sauce at all, and udon not the real udon, but thin noodles. If not visit again, the service was good.
Recommended to travel through Bogotá. The restaurant belongs to a Japanese couple who has been in Colombia for almost 25 years. Your food is authentic, they are fabulous hosts and they speak a few languages that helps in ordering.
The traditional food at Arigato is very tasty indeed, and the friendly and attentive service makes this restaurant well worth a visit. Although the decision is on the plain side, the food and warm welcome make up for it!
