Maison Marin La Couronne

We stayed here on the basis of previous TA reviews and for the easy parking of our cars on the way to Bergerac. We're so glad we did because the staff is friendly and the food is fantastic. We had the speciality of the day (such as a...giante dim sum with finely cut chicken) the shrimps and grapefruit salad plus quiche, croque and burger. There is a tempting selection of sweet pastries to complete things. We ate outside, but there are also tables inside. Everything is reasonably so definately a place to return.

This restaurant is connected to a Boulangerie. We had often seen it, but not visited, so we booked a table on their Facebook page, but don't think it was seen when we had no reservation! The weekly menu is always listed...at there, so we were looking forward to Coq au vin when we visited on Monday, January 16th. Unfortunately they had sold out and we were offered a chicken burger instead, we ordered this with some betrayal know from the past experience that they are often not reachable. We don't have to worry because it wasn't the usual tasteless thing, but a chicken breast in a bungalow. We were not asked if we wanted ketchup, but it was already in the bungalow, and since I don't like ketchup, I wanted to scrape it off when the manager appeared, apologized and replaced my burger. There is no choice of menu, only one dish of Jour and Dessert is selected from the terrace on the display in the shop.

We need not have worried however as it was not the usual minced up tasteless thing, but a chicken breast in a bun. We were not asked if we wanted ketchup but it was already in the bun, and as I don't like ketchup, I was trying to scrape it off when the manager (?) appeared, apologised and replaced my burger. There is no choice of menu, just a plat du jour and dessert is chosen from the patisserie on display in the shop.

Probably the worse place I've eaten in past year and I think I have a short memory because this place is a real shithole.
