Typical of a good location probably managed by people who know nothing about how to manage a restaurant. Cherry on the cake terrible attitude. Really a terrible place. We went for a family lunch and were really loooking forward to eat at la barbade as the restaurant as a nice terrace on la Baule beach. We were not expecting haute cuisine, just decent food you may find on any beach restaurant. And yeat we were massively disappointed. Four of us were served a sea bass whose smell and aspect , firmness and consistency obviously indicated the fish had been spoiled and or frozen then buizarrely cooked. They tasted horribly wrong and we immediately asked for them to be sent back to the kitchen. The waitress came back few minutes later and told us the restaurant manager had tasted it and nothing was wrong, perhaps we were not used to eat wild sea bass? No excuses, no gesture. My friends replaced it by a tomato burrata which were bathed in pesto sauce, I personally couldn 't eat anything, being left with the foul taste of the spoiled fish I literally felt sick. The kids had nuggets and French fries. All the fries were 'glued ' together. Has something gone wrong with their refrigerator? that would explain the fries and the horrible fishes. I would worry for a food inspection if I was them. It 's bad enough to serve spoiled fish on a beach restaurant, but the attitude is absolutely unbearable. You may have a problem with food and though normally it should be checked before it leaves the kitchen, when it happens you apologise and make a commercial gesture and even if you won 't be remembered as a great restaurant, you will at least be remembered as a place who cares for customers, won 't you? It 's almost anecdotal but a detail that tells a lot: while we were eating they decided to fix the flooring of the terrace, so we had to endure the noise of power drill. Why do it during lunch time? because you don 't give a toss about your customers, is the answer. Avoid for ever.
Four of us have eaten at La Barbarde twice on July 13 and July 15 2016 . The first time we enjoyed very much we all had excellent sole meneuire well prepared, quite expensive but worth it. We went back 2 days later(today) and two of us again had excellent sole. However the other two ordered Charolais de Bouef.. What a disaster! Completely uneatable! Not meat all stringy fat. When we complained about the meat the proprietor was extremely rude and told us that we obviously did not know good meat. The bill for both nights was around Eu 240 for 4 not exactly cheap but an acceptable price for the place, location and most of the food. All we wanted was a gesture off the Eu 75 price of the meat. The proprietor refused, was very unpleasant and actually laughed at us to some of his friends. We would never go back but if you decide to go stick to the fish and do not order any meat!
C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons et de nouveau, nous n'avons pas été déçus ! Service très agréable, fruits de mer très bons, accueil sympathique et souriant!!Rien a redire..
Pour tout ceux connaissait la barbade ce temps est révolus ! DOMMAGE nous venions pour le lieu et la cuisine gourmande maintenant juste pour l'emplacement du restaurant.
