If you don 't like spicy food, better ask the waitress before take some food because the is menu called oseng setan . It is so spicy but delicious for spicy lover.

Javanese foods menu, sweet and spicy. Tasty!. There serve sambal goreng, semur jengkol, chicken steam with javanese receipt, oseng tempe, shrimp sambal, vegetable saute, brown chicken eggs, etc. It is legend in Purworejo, Central Java.

Delicious. Good price. Especially gudeg and oseng2 mercon. Recommended.

The place to eat here is clean and comfortable, the choices are quite a lot, if you want to eat at the place, take it yourself buffet. The taste of the food here is good, but not at the mindblowing level. For the price it's not that expensive, it's still reasonable and just right.

One of the places to go each time I visit Purworejo. They serve Javanese style traditional dishes, which mostly consist of protein (chicken, fish, egg, etc) cooked with coconut milk and spice stew style. Like any other Central Java dishes, most of the food might taste too sweet for non-Central Javanese. My favorite menu is nasi rames . It consists of white rice served with opor ayam (chicken and tofu cooked in coconut milk), krecek (cattle skin spicy stew), then assorted with fried noodles, sweet spicy crispy tempeh, and serundeng (spicy fried coconut flakes). This place is quite popular with locals and people from surrounding cities. During the holiday season, it is frequently packed with visitors from Jakarta and other cities.
