Bidrage med feedbackLocated on the main road in Krumpendorf, the restaurant is in the Hotel building and has sparse parking behind ( hard to get in and out due to traffic ) We had made reservations for the evening before the Iron Man event, and so had many others..the restuarant was understaffed for the amount of guests so the service was slow although they did their best My Wienerschnitzel was average..
Although Krumpendorferhof is a hotel, it is perhaps even better known as a restaurant. On Sundays, it is often full to the brink, although it is large and comprises several dining rooms. By contrast, only a few tables in just one room were occupied when we had lunch there on a Saturday. Thus, waiting times were short and service was attentive yet unobtrusive. We appreciated the pleasant atmosphere of the elegant interior, whose styling is somewhat rustic. The standard menu included several classics of the Austrian and international cuisines as well as a few more creative, less common dishes. Though not comprehensive itself, it was complemented by both an entire page of dishes of the day and two pages of asparagus dishes, so that altogether one had a wide choice. What we enjoyed most was that even plain dishes tasted really fine; including the salads, which were perfectly seasoned. The cook seemed to know how to render everything savory. Prices were higher than in other decent restaurants in the area, but commensurate with the quality of the food and not excessive.
We found this chic, familiar and very good restaurant just by chance, travelling from Prague to Italy. So, we couldn't have been lukier! The food and the service were both excellent. The staff was extremely helpful and kind even if it was 2.00 p.m., and made us understand the menu despite the fact that we didn't speak German at all. We tried some of the trout-dishes, goulash and the deer meat dish, which was really over the top! Very good desserts too. Great experience... very pleasant memories... thank you!
We had a great experience. Very good food, excellent service, kind and helpful staff, they suggested us a special dish that we enjoyed a lot. Was a lovely night with our friends
On Martinmas, the traditional dish in Austria (or at least this part of it) is roast goose with a number of standard trimmings and we happened on this by chance. It turned out to be a culinary experience. The goose was perfectly cooked and there was a lot of it (arguably too much but that didn't stop us finishing it!).Having eaten in this restaurant a number of times now, I think it's always very good but this time they had outdone themselves. The standard menu here is not huge but there are always daily specials, sometimes a little unusual & interesting. As with so many restaurants in the area, they often serve fish fresh caught in the lake a few hundred metres away.
