It's outdoor seating is in a garden surrounding. After you are seated, the waiter informs you that you will be escorted inside the kitchen to SEE the food that they have prepared and they also explain how it has been prepared. Probably the closest experience to being invited to have a meal by a Cretan family. This is not the usual taverna, here there are no menus with photos or translations of the dishes. Here you have a family run excellent restaurant with dishes cooked from local ingredients. You can see for yourself what is available, chat with the owner and choose what you eat, according to an old habit of Greek restaurants.
Quite an experience. A rather young chef making delicious traditional cretan dishes, with products from his own farm as he said. No menu on paper, he presents the pots in the kitchen so that you can choose right there. We were lucky to be able to get a table for lunch as we arrived unannounced, you might want to make reservation though to make sure you get a table.
One of the best Taverns Crete has to offer. Mind you, I live here. There is no menu, the Chef takes you to the kitchen and shows you what he has cooked today. About 8—10 plates and all are absolutely wonderful.
