This is a simple, family-run restaurant. It is a little out of the way, and you will probably need to reach it (and back down), but it is definitely worth the effort. The food is simple, but... venerable, but the thing that it really does is the view :-der-ful!! Keep there for a drink on the way back from a hike!!
We drove to this small and charming restaurant and had one of the best pancakes ever! The view from the terrace is second to none. Take the time to find this place when you visit Alpbach.
This mountain restaurant serves excellent local dishes and much more. Either take a big appetite or a friend you share with. The portions are large, but the quality is also unbeatable. Prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has a sun terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains. (Do not forget your sunscreen; it is a real sunfall. There is also a very cozy room in the interior with traditional heating. Of course you always know those who have driven and those who have gone; It is possible to go along the road, but I would suggest going the larch road from the village. This is a beautiful walk through forests and fields and along the mountain streams. Like all hiking trails in Alpbach it is very well maintained and marked. The welcome is very friendly. It is very popular with locals and those in knowledge. Sunday noon/night is a very popular time. Most of the food comes from the family business. Not to miss.
What an experience) first, climbing in the car to the place (the place is up the mountain), then visiting this quaint farmhouse (yep, you can see the cows), and finally absolutely fantastic dinner in totally pleasantly surprising atmosphere. You want to feel like a local?...You should dine in Zottahof then. Food is simple, hearty, huge portions (two people could easely share one). Make sure to ask for their famous drink Löffelmilch, I can assure you have never tried anything like this before)
