TR Cantina & Margarita Bar (Downstairs)

The ambiance was pleasant, the noise level was acceptable, but the food was subpar. The service, on the other hand, was excellent with friendly waitstaff and a welcoming reception. However, the sweetness of the sauces in our Mexican dishes was off-putting and not to our liking. Even the salsa served with the fries seemed more like spaghetti, which was disappointing. The enchilada sauce was particularly disappointing, being overly sweet with a hint of cinnamon that did not complement the dish well. Overall, we were not impressed with the flavors and felt that the restaurant missed the mark on some of their dishes.

I love this place! Your salsa is excellent and the mole is wonderful too. I eat here every time I am in Laguna Beach.

Amazing salsa !! Great service and a fun environment !!! But they need better cooks with more than one style of cooking who know how NOT to overcook all the meat they offer. ALL dishes taste very similar! All with burnt burn marks on "whatever" meat, mixed with similar spices and all well done to finish cooking. The burned cremation, like a fajitas, but for every dish? This is the second time that I had to come here with the same results ... I refuse the next time I am invited ... Maybe have a drink because the mood is good and fun ... she just need better cooks ...
