Garden Island Grille - KOLOA

2 meals in our party came out 30 minutes after everyone else was served. Food was tasty but because 2 people in our party were just waiting.......waiting......waiting.......made the experience unforgettable and not in a positive way.

The horrible service was only exceeded by the arrogance of the owner. Our orders were not put in correctly. One meal did not come until half an hour after everyone else had been served and they were slow to begin with. A child’s meal of grilled cheese did not come until 45 minutes afterwards. The owner’s response was “have some patience, bro.” The server was equally useless. It was only a server at the bar who apologized and removed the charges. In thousands of meals out, I have never been treated with such rudeness.

What a great casual setting in Old Town Koloa! Food was delicious and the family thoroughly enjoyed the live music, that included kid participation. Servers were kind and attentive. And we could have had many more of the creamy pina coladas!

The night we were there, Larry Riviera was the featured talent and he was very entertaining, engaging the crowd and providing a warm Hawaiian vibe. We were greeted warmly and our table service was outstandingly friendly. Beverages were served promptly and food came out quickly. I ordered the seafood salad featuring fresh greens and a generous portion of grilled fish and prawns very tasty! My husband’s burger was prepared well and hit the spot, but there must have been a potato shortage as the portion of fries was surprisingly stingy and left him wanting more. Sticky table, but in all, it was a pleasant experience and we’ll likely give them another chance to make up for the French fry fiasco.

We were not expecting gourmet food but this was more like fast food. The portions were small and the flavor was not there. The temperature was cool not hot. The server was weak and the night was a bust.
