Restaurant zum Schloss - Köniz

This a cozy place and very friendly staff. The food is good, but not amazing.

Decided to try this very highly recommended eatery on Saturday night and the food, service and wine was excellent, seasonal produce is fantastic. The two ladies that severed our table were excellent and professional. They have a Portuguese red on the menu that's very affordable and superb. I have however one negative comment from my visit and that on leaving the resteraunt my clothes smelled as if I have been working in their kitchen all evening, either their kitchen extraction fans were not working or working badly on Saturday, it was quite disgusting.

As we live just nex5 to köniz schloss, we really had to take a look at this very nice and special restaurant. Pro: good food, vegetables are homegrown in the restaurant 's garden. All dishes are organic, without any artificial ingredients. We had ragout and chicken and both dishes were perfect! reasonable prices. We 've paid 110. CHF for two dishes with meat and a bottle of white wine. Quality service is comparable to the restaurant casino in the city of bern 's centre, but you definitely pay way less. perfect atmosphere if you sit on the outside. You feel as if you 're having a trip in a time machine back to the 16th century. It 's just a beautiful lovely place! the waitresses are very attentive and they 're always there for you if you need something. Contra: closed on sunday monday. Closed on sunday? Come on?! Over all: we 'll definitely come back and we 'll recommend the restaurant to our family friends. If you 're nearby, go eat there. It 's a must have been if you 're looking for something nice romantic nearby bern/köniz! You can also just grab a good glas of wine only, it 's worth the 15 minutes trip from bern railway station.

Swiss food, different menus, a great wine selection and good service. In Summer you can also sit outside in the courtyard of the Schloss, wich is very nice.

The lunch was of a good quality. the portions, however, were small and it took almost 3/4 hours to eat (menu, not a la carte) and the ambiente is excellent.
