Bistro Lerelais - KNOWLTON

This morning what a nice surprise at the Relais Bistro, a Welsh for my partner and I, a croque madame was delicious with good Gruyere cheeses and Mornay sauce. To try! Delicious and coming back ?

Warm place with fireplace and excellent food with generous portion. For a stop during a winter walk it was perfect! We ate fish chips with a Paloma cocktail and a cassoulet accompanied by a Moscow mule.

Website gives false information. We arrived for lunch to find that only the brunch menu was in service. Menu had about ten things on it, not many options. Service was very slow and prices were high for what was offered.

Traveling through small towns we found this cute cafe-restaurant. Although we waited a little longer than desired for the food, its amazing taste turned out to be a balm for our hungry stomachs. Not only were we full, but we enjoyed such delicious food.

Onion soup was pure salt. Chicken wings must have been microwaved as they were hard as rocks and the bones splintered. Younger waitress was nice. Middle aged one who was hostess was rude and surley. I am 74. When I say this was the most horrible restaurant experience in my life, believe me. Over 100 for nothing.
