I'll go to lunch next time I'm in town.
We visited from saint louis, here to visit some friends when we made a stop here in take root. I was very impressed by the facility, the staff and the food. we had some of the gnocchi, a spicy chicken taco, french wobbles soup, and some incense spikes. it was all delicious and would recommend to make a stop.
The take root cafe loved! the atmosphere is amazing, the decor was simple, but beautiful, and eating was fantastic! her menu offers many vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and milk-free options. I love that they are environmentally conscious: they grow their own fruits, vegetables, craters and use local huh. this paid community cafe is what every city needs. Those who cannot afford to pay for their meal can release their time in exchange for their meal. what a proper concept!
I was at many agricultural and organic sites, but not so. the non-profit model and the possibility to volunteer for their meals makes it a very special place. They can also pay for a future meal if they want! I loved my lunch and the staff was very friendly and efficient. I'm sure when I'm back.
Take Root Cafe, Kirksville, MO supper stop while on a courthouse photo expedition--it's across the street from the Adair County Courthouse. The falafel was wonderful and the chicken verde is worth driving out of your way for. Also, very friendly staff.
