Altes Wachthaus - Kirchheim unter Teck

We ate in this restaurant times it was that good. The service and the atmosphere here was excellent (and they put big televisions in the beer garden for the world cup which was a bonus).

Wärm atmosphere, good food, young wine, possible to get lunch outside, tasty. Possible to get special food for kids.

Good for a fresh beer and some simple dishes. It is no mistake to have a rest in this restaurant but it is not my favorit.

We had an unfortunate experience at the Altes Wachthaus. Arriving relatively late (around we ordered pasta dishes that took almost an hour to be ready. When pointing out the waiting time, the managers response was beeing annoyed by us. It was explained by a...large party that had to be served before us. It would have helped to point this out to us beforehand. We were offered a small salad three minutes before the pasta arrived by then it did not make a difference. When the food finally came it was ok nothing special though.

When we entered this restaurant, it looked small. Afterwards we discovered that we were in one wing with a narrow bar leading to a second wing. Actually this restaurant seemed to be laid out to conform to the available space in a historic building. We...ate regional food such as spaetzli with mushrooms and were amazed with the very reasonable prices and friendly service. To be recommended for those searching local atmosphere and good German draft beer.
