The Jolly Roger - KILL DEVIL HILLS

Memories at The Jolly Roger are made at the bar, in the restaurant, and even on the upstairs outdoor deck. For 13 years, I've spent a few days at summer's end with friends in the Outer Banks, and we'd always meet up at the Jolly Roger while waiting for the beach house across the street to be cleaned and delivered... Food and drinks are ALWAYS on point (last time we had spare ribs and the deep fried mushroom appetizers!! O.M.G. Service is always welcoming and pleasant... They truly understand the value of their patrons! The atmosphere... THINK PIRATE... the decor is fun sometimes whimsical, but overall it's cozy and you feel like you're in a familiar and safe place! My group of friends has dealt with some tragedies over the past two years Johnny lost his battle with cancer, Bill and Colleen passed away when the house (across the street burned down in August 2023 and our friends Dave and Laura were badly burned... The first attached photo shows me in the center (pink shirt , Bill on the left, Johnny on the right, and the Whale Watcher (the house that burned down over our shoulders This was taken on the upstairs deck at The Jolly Roger. The second photo is me on the left, Laura center and Dave on the right in front of the Whale Watcher. It is because of places like the Jolly Roger that I will be returning to OBX to reminisce, take time off, and remember my dear friends... The Jolly Roger will always be a 5 Star location for me!

No words can describe how special the Jolly Roger is! Came for drinks and karaoke and had a blast!

The food here is just ok, but they always seem to be open when other eateries are closed and the staff is nice and helpful.

Such a fun place to be. Everything was Christmas themed, at the beach! The service was great and the food was spot on. Was looking for some local waterfood and this hit the spot! Highly recommended checking them out!!
