Bidrage med feedbackThe staff at this restaurant is incredibly charming and the prices are very affordable. The food is enjoyable, but in my opinion, it does not quite match up to some of the other local eateries in Khon Kaen.
We arrived around noon to find only a unappealing collection of leftover buffet items. When we inquired about kway teow soup, the man quoted us a price of 40 THB, which was much higher than the more upscale restaurants across the street. Because of this, we decided to go back to the delicious Aroy Mak Maak restaurant on Anamai Street.
Rice and 3 choices for 40 baht. They also make som tam (papaya salad) upon request and sell a few ready-made items. Very tasty! The laab was my favorite. They made my som tam very spicy, just how I like it (although I recommend asking for it without mock fish sauce, as I didn't like the smell). The tawanthomg was also good, but I liked this place better.
Breakfast tomorrow. I had a plate of very delicious soy protein meat, mixed vegetables and brown rice. they also have noodles, but I didn't try that. the owner is a very nice, friendly guy. the restaurant is outside, but under a deck so likely not too hot on the afternoon. 30 baht for a plate of brown rice with two items. arroy maak! the restaurant is a bit difficult to find. from the intersection of hwy 2 and sri chan rd, go east on sri chan rd (central plaza on the left, NE corner of the crossing.) go over the railway tracks, then turn left, 2nd left, which is a small soi just before the new HugZ-Mall. updated by previous review on Saturday, 09.
