Sandburne Vegetarian Guest House

We had a fantastic experience at Sandburne. Tony was a fantastic host and prepared delicious vegan breakfasts. The views from the Revelin room were breathtaking and the accommodation was cozy and beautifully furnished. We are looking forward to returning.

I just returned from a fantastic stay at Sandburne. It is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful location. We were warmly welcomed and given helpful tips for exploring the Keswick area. The old railway line offered a nice walk into town, and there were bus stops nearby. Our room, Seat How, was well-appointed with comfortable beds and a nice ensuite shower. Having a bath available in the shared bathroom was a nice bonus after a long hike (bathrobes were provided). The garden and views of the fells from the bedroom and breakfast room were also appreciated. The vegan breakfast options were fantastic, including cooked breakfast, avocado on toast, buckwheat pancakes, homemade granola, and more. We were fortunate enough to try them all and they were all delicious! We will definitely be returning.

The vegan breakfasts at this restaurant are amazing, with a lot of choices and cooked perfectly. The host, Anthony, goes above and beyond to make sure that you have a fantastic experience. Sandburne is located in a beautiful area with breathtaking views, and it's just a short walk from the town center where you can find plenty of vegan options, including two fully vegan restaurants. It's a great central location for exploring both the northern and southern Lakes. The rooms are lovely and peaceful, with views of the well-maintained garden where you can unwind. I will definitely be coming back again.

We visited the beautiful area of lake district for the first time, and were so lucky to find Sandburne the perfect place to stay at. The room we stayed in (Revelin) was large and spacious, sparkling clean, great shower and very comfortable. Everything is nicely designed and you can see attention was given to the smallest details. The house itself is beautiful and welcoming, with a wonderful garden outside. The breakfast was very good and highly recommended both the vegetarian and the vegan (especially the avocado toast and the pancakes). The owner, Anthony, is the nicest and very welcoming. He was most helpful with explaining about the area and gave us great tips about travelling in the area! Would no doubtfully stay here again if ever in the area. Thanks a lot for a wonderful stay!

My partner and I had a lovely 3 night stay in Sandburne Guest House, in Keswick. There are so many nice things to say about this Guest House and Anthony, our host Here are just a few: The attention to detail in the rooms is excellent Comfy beds Shower with good water pressure and rainfall setting Good quality shower products and there was even a relaxing lavender pillow spray! Soft fluffy towels Great selection of hot drinks tea, coffees, herbal teas, hot chocolate etc. in the room, with big mugs to enjoy drinking whilst looking at the ... ... Amazing views out if the bedroom window, of surrounding fells, countryside and view of Keswick town centre Stunning house with such a pretty garden Great location a short walk into Keswick Anthony was so helpful and was interesting to talk to, and it was a pleasure learning a little about his family history and their connection to the vegan society. He also had lots of information about things to do, places to eat, and local walks in the area. He gave us vouchers for a discount on a night at the theatre and an evening meal in a restaurant. Finally, a special mention regarding breakfast. This was THE BEST breakfast I have ever had in a guesthouse! There is an extensive selection of cereals and muesli, with GF options too and homemade granola. There is a choice of milk, and milk alternatives (oat , yoghurts, soya yoghurts and fresh fruits to top the muesli/granola. Great coffee and fresh orange juice too. Anthony offers a superb cooked breakfast with options such as eggs florentine, avocado on toast, a 'traditional ' style cooked veggie/vegan breakfast, and buckwheat pancakes topped with baked fruit all cooked with the attention to detail that runs throughout a stay at Sandburne. There is the option to have toast to finish, but we were so full that we weren 't able to sample this final course! Sandburne is homely and comfortable, and I can only say positive things about our stay. We hope we will have the opportunity to return, thank you, Anthony :
