Bidrage med feedbackUtterly phenomenal are the words that come to mind. I cannot recommend this place enough. The side corned beef and hash was out of this world! French toast was excellent and so was my husbands skillet. They have an outdoor patio and welcome dogs if you can keep them by your feet and out of the walkway. Do yourself a favor and check this place out for breakfast! They open at 7am. As with all restaurants in the area they do tend to get packed all at once so be patient and kind to your server.
Was in Kernville with my family and this restaurant was right across from where we were staying so we decided to try it. Arrived at 10am left at 12:45 almost 1. But we could definitely tell when we first got there that it was packed. We waited around 30 mins to get seated, 20 mins to order, and almost 2 hours to eat our food. The food was decent but it was like any other breakfast restaurant. They did take off some of our omelettes off of our bill. Definitely do not recommend if you don’t like waiting a long time for your food.
Came in for a late lunch on a very hot July day (100+ . Restaurant was busy but I was seated immediately in one of only 2 tables open.. Waitress was prompt, polite and checked with me frequently. Had the BLT, fries and a side salad with iced tea. Salad was cold and crisp, ice tea came with a carafe for easy refills. BLT had thick bacon and was well made. Fries were good, not great (but I ate them alll . Only issue is that the AC couldn't keep up with the heat so it was just a little cool-but definitely a lot cooler than outside. That was the issue for losing a star in the Atmosphere rating. But still 5 stars for a diner in a small town. Overall, glad I picked this diner and would recommend to anyone passing through Kernville.
This place is amazing. I got the country skillet and my wife got the Carne asada tacos. Just wow. If I could give extra stars I would.
Going to kernville every year for the last 5 one of our top picks was going to the mother lode and a delicious break fest at the cracked egg but now under new management I have to say that they didn’t only raised the prices but they decreased the flavor and portions sizes, now from what I heard is that they fired the chefs from the old management and they kept the chefs from the Italian place,I’m not a food critic I’m just giving my humble opinion.
