Island Stone Pub - Kensington

Amazing food! My husband said this place has the best fish and chips ever! And my burger was really delicious!!! If you want a guaranteed good meal, go here!

I was passing through Kensington on my way to another town and decided to stop for lunch. I was pleased with my decision as the restaurant was quite busy, with reservations filling up for later in the evening, but they were able to seat me at the bar. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. I ordered a burger and poutine, both of which were excellent. The burger was juicy and messy, just the way I like it, and the poutine had a delicious gravy and squeaky cheese. I didn't try any of the local beers on tap due to driving, but they had a nice selection available. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience and would definitely return.

Another great visit. The service is always top notch. Staff very very pleasant.Prices reasonable. Great wine/cocktail choices. Lookin' fwd to return visit in August. Bring your appetite,,,,,,,large portions.

We reserved for 6:45, we’re allowed in at 6:55. Two tables were open on the bar area and we were taken to back cramped dining area. With our food order our server took my husbands order for beer but me and our 11yr old daughter sat thirsty u til my husband flagged her down running past and ignoring our table. After 40 minutes and watching everyone else around us eating, I asked our server when we could expect our dinner and she snapped at me they were busy. We decided to leave. No sooner did we get out the door did the owner jump out and say our food ‘was about to hit the table, but never mind, I can see we can’t do anything to please you tonight’. I didn’t even have a beverage. No one tried to even provide me basic service. Then some people he knew were coming in and there’s a spot for them reservations don’t matter and the staff are only as good as their boss.

The owner, Eric, is extremely rude to his staff. I saw him screaming and yelling at one of his young female waitresses until she was in tears. His behavior is very unprofessional and verbally abusive. When I asked if she needed help, she begged me not to say anything because it would only make the situation worse. It seems like this is a regular occurrence with him.
