Bidrage med feedbackJust picked someone from there. Looks like a nice hotel.
The Lansdowne was the ideal hub for our Kenmare-based international wedding!!! The service was next-level, they attended to our every need. My wife and I along with many of our wedding guests stayed for four nights leading up to our wedding and the wedding day itself. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms which had ample space and was very comfortable. My MIL& FIL stayed in the other adjacent deluxe room and served as wonderful spaces for us to get ready with our wedding parties, including hair and makeup. The location is terrific with many bayside walks, delicious restaurants and bustling pubs down the street. One moment served as the literal and figurative icing on the cake. Due to a (non Lansdowne) mix-up our wedding cake didn't arrive until a day after our wedding. Our cake was delivered to the hotel while some of our guests were aggregating on the patio. On the spot they cut and plated our cake for our guests and then individual sliced and stored the rest for our other guests to collect throughout the day. Sublime service was the pedestal of our stay in county Kerry and the Lansdowne served as its exemplar.
As a launching point for the Ring of Beara and Dingle Peninsula, we stayed at the Lansdowne Kenmare for 3 nights. It's a very well located hotel, near shopping and restaurants. Yet, it was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Our deluxe room was large, attractive, and well appointed. But in some cases, the designer chose fashion over function. For example: no toilet paper holder in the bathroom (paper left on top of the toilet basin instead like college), and there was nowhere at all in the bedroom or bathroom with good light and space to apply makeup. A few small changes would make the room much more useful. But our biggest complaint about the Lansdowne was the service. The woman who checked us in (at 5:30pm on a Sunday) seemed unhappy to see us and was downright unwelcoming. The staff at breakfast, with the exception of a lovely Irish woman, was so surly that we chose to eat elsewhere on our second and third mornings in Kenmare. I know that some people equate haughtiness with luxury, but we don't. And the Lansdowne staff were a stark contrast with everyone else we met in Ireland. The hotel manager would serve him/herself well to change the culture. Review summary: lovely facility, great location, staff needs hospitality training.
Breakfast with friends. So good we went twice in one week !!
Just visited Cafe, which was nice if a little pricey for what it was. coffee was a little cold so I asked for hot milk but never arrived. plenty of other options locally, so probably would not call again
