The service at this restaurant is excellent and it has the best atmosphere in Kearney. The view is spectacular and the food choices are great. I especially love the view! We visited during each season and it was nice to see a restaurant that changes its menu with the seasons. The view in winter is just as beautiful as in the summer.
The edgewater lodge in kearney, ontario before the seguin trail was our ATV target last weekend. after a long journey we reached the lodge and were pleasantly surprised by the natural environment. the area is well maintained, clean and scenic. the dame in the reception area is very shameful about the rules. entering and leaving the door where you park (not on the grass check the time 10:00 clock, etc. after a long day it was a bit difficult to smile through 5 minutes of do’s and not, but given where we are in this day and age, it was understandable. we were in a room that was simple and clean; 2 queen beds, 2 pieces bathroom, separate washbasin and vanity, refrigerator, seismic, shampoo, hair dryer and ac (not that it was needed). the television didn't work. and for those of them that are used to certain conveniences during the trip, note that there is no telephone system or cell phone reception in the room and no wifi (only in the main lodge). the licensed restaurant opens around 17 o'clock for dinner (closes around 19 o'clock (please reserve) and 9 o'clock for breakfast. dinner was simple but tasty and the service was great. you can't go wrong with chicken wings and salat. I must say the wings were fleshy and the seasonal, cajun dry rub and really spicy buffalo (other available), were delicious with the left for a great snack on the ATV trip back to the lkw. our travel partners had the maischowder, salat and reuben sandwich. there was no rest. the highlight of the evening was the sunset we saw through the window when we drank the last beer. just a quick note here also when they get out at sunset to capture a picture and the light is quickly fade, note that there is a pretty drop down to the top of the main grass surface. I speak out of experience. the breakfast was hearty. note (again) that, as the restaurant is opened by exactly 9 clock and check out is an adamant 10 a.m., you can want to pack the car / atw, etc. before the time so that the breakfast is not too eager. our time in the edgewater was short, but pleasant. because I know that and not, I would probably return for a second visit. will I have taken the seguin trail? the answer is for another review.
The campsites are spacious and level, situated near a well-maintained comfort station. The staff members are friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay for all guests. Thank you for making our experience wonderful.
Our family stayed one night at Edgewater Park before our Algonquin Park canoe trip. Location makes park access easy. Cabins were simple, but clean and comfortable. We stayed in one that had 4 small bedrooms, each with a built-in bunk bed (double down, twin up)....We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The jalapeno burger might have been the best burger we've had in Canada! We weren't there long enough to take advantage of other lodge amenities.
