Bidrage med feedbackThis is my favorite diner in town. Although I don't live in Katy yet I still come. I ordered the Friday special Prime rib it was good but the spot light is on the soup that comes with it. It's a clam chowder soup that warms you up from the bottom of your stomach. My wife ordered a chop steak with eggs. Although it looks like burger patty yet it's very flavorful and tasty. The dessert is blackberry cobbler that sure taste like it's made by grandma. Will definitely come by whenever I passby Katy.
Tri-Tip sandwich was amazing, one of the best I ever had (also compared to east coast where I grew up). Sweet potatoes were not too salty, and could really taste the sweetness of potatoes against salty flavors. Pancakes were very filled and had a hint of sweetness and vanilla. Look forward to one of these in San Antonio very soon.
Our server Brenda was amazing. She greeted us and everyone else when she could. It was nice that they worked together as a team. It was our first visit there. And on several occasions we saw employees with the other girls in life talks as a friend. That was pretty cool and unique. Food had made really good quality ingredients and our preference.
Hello Black Bear FAMILY! My first experience today was nothing short of AMAZING! My best friend and I had been wanting to eat here for a while, but we were always too busy. Since it’s her birthday month, I decided to treat her to breakfast. Jarod welcomed us with a warm smile when we arrived at 6:30 AM. We mentioned that it was our first visit, and he reassured us that we would love it. Our waitress, Brenda, was friendly, cheerful, attentive, and truly wonderful! To top it all off, we received a lovely surprise—a customer behind us, a young man from California, paid for our meals! We were completely taken aback when Brenda shared the news. We’ll definitely be back… Black Bear FAMILY—everything was GRAND!
Now, let's talk about the standout dish that has been on my mind since my last visit nine months ago: the sweet cream pancakes. They are absolutely exceptional, especially when paired with syrup and that delicious whipped spread. I can't get enough of them! We dined around 8:30 PM, and my son ordered chicken tenders. They were served hot and fresh, along with a generous portion of hot French fries. The tenders were a bit on the smaller side, but given the current economic situation and chicken shortages, I can understand why. They also came with a bacon ranch dip, which I thought was really good, although my son didn't share my enthusiasm. Overall, I’d give the sweet cream pancakes and sweet tea a solid 5 stars, while the rest of the meal deserves about 3.5 to 4 stars. Our waiter was good, although I didn't catch his name.
