Řecká Taverna Kreta - Karlin

A pleasant Greek restaurant, I enjoyed the food and they had good wine. The portions were huge for my taste, I'm not used to that so I took the rest home. The location is convenient and parking is easy. I would gladly recommend it.

This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise and a return to Greece. We really enjoyed both the wine and the food. The portions are large, they could easily be smaller so that one could taste more, but that is just a small detail. The service was quick and friendly. Seating on the terrace was ideal. We will gladly return here and try more dishes.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed, and the staff made every effort to accommodate us. We sat inside for a while since we did not have a reservation, but after a while, they set up a table for us outside on the terrace. The food was excellent, and the homemade lemonades were delicious. The interior was beautiful, and the music with the outdoor seating really transported us to a vacation in Greece. I highly recommend it.

OK, here is the deal... I am from the south Balkan and my standards are high when it comes to Balkan/mediterranean/Greek food, and I haven't been in Kreta restaurant in a long while but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The interior is ok, needs a little work to refresh it, but it will do. Greek places are about people and food and the big tables for 6+ people are just right. The quality of the food was very good and I cannot say for many Greek places in CZ. For me the starters are the best, of course if I wanna pass out from food then I continue with main dishes : the fish and fruit of the sea was very tasty and seemed legit. Kolukotaki : you can say you can't go wrong with it but I have tried bad ones for sure.. These were spot, on probably the best in Prague. Dolmades were kinda different and ok, but in tomato sauce and better meat quality not to be so stiff would be better. Of course you cannot have a Greek place without Greek wine and ouzo, but here I have to say the cheaper version served and not amazed, but still ok, the Greek taste was still there. Service is very pleasant, they will explain everything and will recommend if you need it, but once you kinda finish eating they leave you to it... Maybe more offers for coffee or sweets would not be bad. Overall, well I can surely recommend it with he river ambiance and terrace!

Pekna restaurace s moznosti sezeni venku na kryte terase a vyhledem na Zlute lazne. Obsluha mela co delat, aby vse stihala, ale jinak s ni nebyl problem. Jidlo chutnalo dobre.
