Sneha and Santoshji run at the end of MG Road in Matheran with the name Ganesh Refreshments a charming little piece. This charming couple takes care of the needs of their guests and prepares delicious 5 star quality Parsi, Continental and Goan cuisine. My daughter can't eat spicy food at all, and even if I ask for not spicy food, the food is still spicy for her. However, I only had to ask for Sneha once and every dish was like our home cooked food full of taste, but no chili. For lunch we tried her Sheperd's Pie, Baked Potato with Chicken Cheese, Mutton Dhansak, Chicken stew with brown rice, Salli Boti Mutton, White Pepper Chicken and crispy Mutton shells. For breakfast we had their delicious selection of eggs daily Spanish Omellette, Parsi Scramble (Akuri), Spanish Omellette, Sunny Side Up Eggs and Alu Paranthas, French Toasts, Chocolate Potcakes, Oreo Milkshake, Tea and Coffee. The quality of the meat is also excellent both chicken and hammel. The oil used is a good quality, you can say that with only one mouthful. The food quantities are humbly three adults can comfortably eat a dish. the ambience is wonderful. People who love home cooked meals in a cozy place and quiet environment will love it here. Besides, the food is 5 star quality. No one can say after the meal of Santosh's Sheperd's Pie that it is not a merit of a 5 star day! Although we stumbled upon this place by chance, we ended up having all three of our meals here during our three-day stay in Matheran. Their Spanish omelettes and scrambled eggs are exceptionally tasty. We sampled almost everything on the menu and they even accommodate custom orders. My daughter loved the melted lava chocolate muffins, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Parsi, Goan, Maharashtrian, Konkan, and continental dishes. Our visit to Matheran felt more like a food tour than a sightseeing trip. Be sure to stop by Ganesha Refreshment when you visit Matheran.
