Bidrage med feedbackIf you ain’t in Louisiana or from Louisiana, it’s so hard to be Louisiana. This is the Midwest; Jazz ain’t Louisiana...but it’s so damn close! Being originally from the Gulf Coast region, I always have reservations for anything this far inland that calls itself Cajun or Creole. So, before even getting into the car, I was already scrutinizing the menu. That’s when I was impressed for the first time. Every choice I saw offered a taste of the real thing. Then, the family and I got to the place. The choice of building felt just right. The oyster shells as a rock bed loved it! Back home, they used to pave the roads with crushed oyster shells. The inside...loved it! I felt at home; so much of the decor made me miss home. Impressed a second time. The food: ooh wee! They have Abita beer! The French bread was wonderful, and the butter they use is seasoned! Yum! My wife had a sweet tea, and it reminded me of the tea back home! We had boiled crawfish and thoroughly enjoyed them, spiced well and not overpowering. I also had crawfish étouffée with jambalaya in the middle. For the étouffée, I probably should have had white rice, but at least I got to taste the well flavored jambalaya. The étouffée was wonderful, too! We had beignets, and I was impressed by the addition of Chantilly whipped cream. The beignets, I felt, were a bit overdone, but they were down a fryer so hard to fault them. Still, impressed a third time. Our waitress, Sarah, was so accommodating! I told her I was gonna grill her because this was all ethnic food for me. She took it like a champ, and she never disappointed. Plus, it’s hard to deny me another Southerner (two of us out of our element). Impressed a fourth time. We don’t live too terribly far from Kansas City. This is a favorite spot to visit for us in this area of the country. We can guarantee that we will be back to Jazz on the next trip! This Cajun approves and highly recommends!
Went there on a Friday night, and yes there was a wait, but that’s to be expected when the food is good! There were 11 of us including 3 children, we cozied up to the bar and had drinks and appetizers! The bar tender was very attentive and the appetizers were great! Now to the food: I’ve eaten at the Jazz at the Legends a few times, and although the food was good, it didn’t compare to what I got at this Jazz, and I ordered the same meal at both places! This was a fun place to visit with my family! The food, the drinks, and the service were amazing! Definitely recommend Jazz! We’ll be back!
Took my 11 family members there we had to wait and hour and a half but so worth it. They got us a big table right in front of the band. We had such a blast and the food was amazing. Great fun staff love this place
My boyfriend and I had Jazz for the first time on Friday and oh my goodness! I have nothing but great things to say about them! Everything was great! Although they were busy, it took them less than just a few minutes to get us seated. The service was great, and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. I had their blackened tilapia w/ a shrimp czarina sauce and holy cow! The flavors are just so amazing. Not to mention they had a live band and just an overall great atmosphere! Definitely recommend it to anyone into Cajun!
Loved this place!! Went to New Orleans and really enjoyed it so It was nice to find the food here in Kansas City
