Local Boy Sushi - Kaneohe

This place is brilliant. My wife and I visited Waikiki/Honolulu last week, and we ate at several high-end sushi restaurants while we were there. We spent up from several hundred dollars per restaurant. None of them was as good as Local Boy Sushi. The menu here is concise, but everything they do is done very well. A week later, I still dreamed about the Lava Bowl. If I get the chance to get back to Oahu, Sushi will have priority for me.

I have some friends who live on Oahu and have visited several times. In my opinion, this is the best place for Poke on the island! The lava bowl is bomb! Spicy tuna with sweet unagi sauce yum! Then the avocado and tempura shrimp were just a delicious additional bonus. Requisit to offer something different than most poke places on the island. Definitely a must try when you are in Kaneohe!

OMG, you guys, soooooo good! This is my way to eat a quick bite. It is a literal hole in the wall that they could work in the thinnest business you will ever see. You'll know what I mean when you're here. I ALWAYS go with the LBS Special, which is a choice of poke and meat and I usually go in the shrimp empura for a $1. In addition, the LBS Special comes with a free drink. They use multi-grain rice which is not my Fave, but it doesn't matter to me because I feel healthier to eat. Haha! My favorite choices are: ahi poke, spicy ahi and kalua pig. I loved her calbi, but everyone since they served him, I skip this choice. I don't want to pay some meat on a big bone. Parking is hit or miss. So here are my suggestions: call in your order before time (even 5 or 10 minutes before and have a person jump out to get the order. Local Boy Sushi is a jewel in Kaneohe!!!

I had the Deluxe Cheeseburger and was as shocked as it was. The best burger for only 4.25. Yeah, it's small, but so full of taste. My husband has the lava roll and it was super good! For the first time I tried the handrolling maki with shrimp empura and it was surprisingly good. The menu is somewhat limited, but so delicious.

Fresh fish and good value for the poke bowl! Definitely the most value compared to other poke shops on Oahu!
