Jade Garden Restaurant - Kamloops

We arrived at 1:15 for the buffet and maybe that was our mistake. Food was heavily picked over, none of it was replenished and a couple of the dishes were very cold. We received our drinks and then didn’t see the waiter again until we went up front to pay. The plastic cover on our table was filthy. It really needed a good clean. I’m giving it a 3 with the assumption it may have been better earlier. Won’t be back.

Have ordered takeout/delivery many times over the years from Jade Garden. We enjoy the food and the restaurant meets our expectations for special requests. Delivery is always within 45 minutes of ordering in the Kamloops downtown area.

Have not been here for about 5 years, used to be SO good. Not today. The food was cold. There was hardly any food on the buffet. It was tasteless. Not worth it, too many other wonderful, clean, cool, comfortable, places to eat and spend your money. The washroom is down in the basement. Dark. Dirty. No paper towels. The place has really gone down hill. It was NOT busy at all, now I know why . Maybe the food to go is much better, but the Buffet is a bust !

I visited this Place last night. It was about 8:10 PM. I felt hungry and wanted a bite to eat. I sat down and a shy looking young Asian man asked me if I wished a Drink Just ordering water I looked at a piece of paper on the Wall nearby and saw their 'Today 's Special '. Small Wonton Soup and S& S Pork on steamed Rice.I ordered that. It arrived fast I asked the Waiter for Soy Sauce he seemed surprised. Returned with Just Soy Sauce (none of the usual Chopsticks and Chili Sauce on ANY Tables . And that was the end of the Waiter. (I could have sat there until 11:00pm , or walked out w/out paying too! . I was the sole Customer in the place and could hear loud Cell phone playing some Chinese Clip of something up by the Till. After drinking my water and eating food I had hoped to see some feed back on the Food, did I wish more water? Usual thing. NADA. I went up to till watched him transfixed upon a Cellphone and tapped the Desktop Said I was ready to pay now.. and was dying over there for some more water. 'Sorry Sorry '.(Sowee ..I pointed to his cellphone saying you should not be doing that while you are on shift! (Repeats his apologies .We are not swarming with Customers here now... you don 't have to keep apologising,but if you want to a job as a Waiter you just have to behave like a Waiter.(I was calm, but made a point I get paid to do my Job so too must he . He asked if I wished the receipt? No. (That way he can see I left NO TIP! . Later that night I was up for 3 Hrs with the Runs from probably old Pork (hence the 'Special ' . I will avoid this Establishment in future. Businesses NEVER get better when they are hot. Always get worse, usually with new Owners. I have been told there are a shortage of 600 servers in Kamloops.(Half on cell Phones and the rest Stoned probably? . It shows. Good help is hard to find.

A Kamloops downtown landmark Jade Garden offers Chinese Buffet. At lunch at least 10 items the standards. Above average quality.
