Bidrage med feedbackI ORDERED DELIVERY. IT USED TO BE MY FAVORITE SPOT . THEY CLOSED FOR QUITE A WHILE AND RECENTLY RE OPENED . THEY SHOULD HAVE STAYED CLOSED . NOT AT ALL LIKE THE FOOD THEY USED TO PREPARE. THE RICE WAS HARD AND HAD NO FLAVOR . CHOW MEIN SAME . THEY NOW USE PROCESSED DELI CHICKEN AND TOSS IT AROUND . NO FLAVOR IN ANYTHING . OVER PRICED AND WORSE MEAL I EVER HAD . ALL WENT INTO TRASH. NEVER AGAIN . THE PORK WAS SO TOUGH COULDN'T CUT IT WITH A REGULAR KNIFE . I GET SICK JUST THINKING ABOUT IT . I SUSPECT THAT SOMEONE ELSE MAY HAVE TAKEN IT OVER. THE PREVIOUS OWNERS WOULD NEVER HAVE TRIED TO PASS THAT GARBAGE OFF AS EDIBLE . STAY AWAY
Ordered vegetables chow mean and chicken fried rice. If you could find any vegetables in there good luck when I called they said shred cabbage celery and onion. LITTLE AND SPARSE. The noodles were so over cooked a glue Ness. The rice not much better. So disappointed when I called to complain I was dismissed.
Very polite and friendly staff and EXCELLENT Authentic Chinese cuisine. I personally recommend the HOT and SOUR soup, wonton soup, chow mein, beef chop suey, and ALMOND CHICKEN/ chicken balls.
Typical Canadian Chinese food menu. Excellent flavour and very little MSG if any, as one of our party has a MSG allergy and never had any issues eating this food. Everything was very fresh, lots of veggies in the dishes and lots of variety to the menu.
My parents and I chose the Bamboo Inn as a last minute restaurant to eat in after our first several choices turned out to be closed. My 50-something-year-old father claimed that he remembered the establishment from his childhood and if they're still open over 40 years later then they must be doing something right. Stepping inside the restaurant, I don't honestly think any form of repairs, maintenance or upgrading has happened to the interior. The carpets were torn and dirty, the walls scraped and dented and the tables/chairs looked as though they were purchased used in early 70's. I was left with a general feeling of uneasiness as I awaited my dinner, as though a bad case of food poisoning was in the near future. Service was fairly quick, especially so given that the server was also the cook and likely answering calls for delivery/take out as well. By the time our food had arrived, any expectations I had for the food had dwindled into nonexistence and I was a little hesitant to even try it. We ordered the dinner for three which consisted of sweet and sour pork, almond chicken, beef chop suey, fried rice and chicken chow mein. The sweet and sour pork was fried very nicely, and it came out nice and crispy. The almond chicken was similar, a nice crispy fry and a good ratio between chicken and batter. The beef chop suey wasn't particularly incredible, but it wasn't terrible either. The same can be said for the fried rice, which would have greatly benefited from a bit of seasoning. The only dish I really didn't care for was the chicken chow mein, which had a chewy texture that felt somewhat oily. Overall, the food tasted much better than I expected it would and I would go as far as to suggest it tasted better than both Oriental Gardens on Victoria, and Moon Wok on Tranquille (the only other Chinese I've had in Kamloops). The value seemed fair, priced around 45 dollars or so for the dinner for three (all dishes were fairly decent sized portions). If you can wrap your head around and get over the filthy, run-down decor of the establishment you might just be in for a decent Chinese meal. If you don't think that's possible perhaps give them a call for a delivery.
