Gala Tavern - Kalgoorlie

Best Thai food in town. Better prices and better taste than others. Ok, so the best Thai food in the city is in the old Gala Pub, just from the main train, and there is only a small sign on the front, but it is worth a visit, service was friendly, food authentic and you can take away what you do not eat from the good portions, steamed rice is up if necessary. We'll definitely be back, and they'll get out.

I found about this restaurant from word of mouth. On the outside it just looks like a standard Aussie pub, but on the inside is a team of the friendliest, loveliest Thai ladies. The menu is authentic traditional Thai food and the prices are very good for what you get. I’m half Thai and this food reminds me of the food I had growing up. I never thought I would find some of the best Thai food in Kalgoorlie in the Gala Tavern of all places, but this place exceeds all expectations. Most underrated restaurant in Kalgoorlie. Such a hidden gem. Every person I’ve brought here had no clue it existed and I think this place does not get the recognition it deserves. If you are looking for somewhere new to eat in Kalgoorlie, go here you can not go wrong. I highly recommend the deep fried pork belly, the chicken wings, the sticky rice, the Panang curry, the Massaman curry, the Tom Yum, and the Tom Kha. 10/10 food and customer service.
