Royal Thai Cafe - Kailua Kona

Both times I had curry here, it was all vegetables and almost no broth, and my green? Curry had food coloring in that the chicken made blue. It also had a funny chemical taste. The other food was great. I'm avoiding curry here. There are many other great Thai places in the city with amazing curry!

This is a delicious and authentic Thai restaurant. The service was quick and friendly. The Aubergines Basilikum and Garlic Stirring Fries are fabulous!

Very authentic Thai food. Pineapple fried rice was amazing. Two Star Spice Level (of 5) was a big lip tingling running nose level for this white guy! Higher spice levels are not for the weak heart palette.

King Thai was a delicious dinner great service with wonderful ambience! Her garlic roots w/shrimp, pouring soup crispy spring rolls were all fresh and more than enough food for two. The dessert of fried ice cream was a great way to finish this evening. We will return during our vacation.

Unfortunately a tad disappointing. The Pad Thai was very dry and did not have a lot of flavor. It was sad because it smelled so good in the car. The curry was very coconut-ey and did not have a traditional Thai currty flavor. The veggies didn't seem very fresh and the spring rolls were very greasy. Overall, it was edible and the staff was nice, but I wouldn't recommend (at least takeout). Maybe eating in is much better than take out.
