Where I go when I miss my mother's haunted Korean meals. After I came to Central, I missed my mother's home, cooked Korean meals so much. So I was ecstatic when Shin broke up! Meals are fresh, tasteful and delicious. Not to mention, they are as authentic as you can get for Mt. Pleasant. It doesn't matter to pay there for a meal, they come with never-ending fresh Korean sides from Kimchi and Pickled Radish. When I visited my mother, she enjoyed her food and was happy that I had a place to get good Korean food. Shin's is definitely a hidden gem of Mt. Pleasant that I recommend to everyone at least once trying to experience high quality Korean cuisine.
Great Korean at Shin's. I tried Shin's because I love good Korean food and the reviews were so positive. I wasn't disappointed at all. Yum! This small 6-table restaurant is located in a non-descript strip centre, but it is worth looking. As other reviewers have said, the place was sparkling clean, the service was prompt, friendly and helpful. When I arrived, the other males were all Koreans I took as a good sign. The food was delicious. I have the Dolsit Bi Bim Bap, the various picked / salted vegetables served on hot rice in a sizzling stone dish, and with a raw egg yolk. They stir into the egg yolk that cooked because the bowl and rice are so hot. The server offered to add meat if I wanted. It is served with a very nice hot and sweet sauce and sides of Kim-Cee and a kind of picked radishes. I don't like radishes and it was great. If I lived in Mt. Pleasant, I would regularly be at Shin's.
By far the best when it comes to fresh, fast oriental food in the Mount!
Best Korean food in town (also one of the only) but this small restaurant is a bit overpriced. However the delicious food and service make it worthwhile.
