Don't waste your money here. The food tastes like it is out of a can. I had tacos and the meat was cold my wife went to ask where her beans where and they said there coming out of the microwave.
You could say it's a local secret. PROS: If you want to avoid the tourists on Main Street, here you go. Cars were parked everywhere, so we pulled off on Coleman Circle and felt it was safe enough to leave our car. We headed East towards Washington and there it was: a Mexican-Italian place. Hmm ... After heading up towards Main, we decided against the mob scene, and headed back downhill, and walked into Poncho's. Yes, it was quiet, and the front desk guy cook weren't the smiley types. But I refuse to let that stop me from being friendly. Within seconds, everything was good, as we shared a conversation or two. We didn't want pizza, so I asked the dishwasher (cook about the Mexican food. She said the carnitas other meats were fresh. We're not huge meat eaters so we ordered 2 fish taco combos. Plus 3 Martinellis (apple juice) for $29. My sweetheart I headed outside to a stone table. It was breezy and quiet. The food came less than 10 minutes later. Sure, the beans rice were just okay, but the fish tacos hit the spot. Clearly, Poncho's is where the locals go when they don't want to cook.
Imagine a Mexican restaurant that also has pizza and even Philly Cheese Steak, excellently prepared and priced right in combo with onion rings. Only drawback was impersonal and seemingly begrudgingly coopreative counterman in a town with tourists or visitors.
I do really like the food here. The horchata taste great. The carne asada fries are great too just make sure you tell them that you don't want beans in them if you don't want beans on them. Also make sure you grab your salsas. I also like their tacos de cabeza and their quesadillas. Everything is clean and everyone's polite .I believe it is just strictly drive through.
