Honolulu Poke - Johnstown

The owner of this place is so rude!!! And disrespectful I been coming here since it opened but, I can no longer keep coming here and give him my money, all his employees are nice but, he doesn’t let them have good customer service it says a lot that he is always hiring new employees!he yells and his employees and customers I keep going because the food is good but today he crossed the line we came it and there were people in front of us and he came up to both of us a told he was closing soon and, we had to take it to go. Fine!! No problem right, well the people in front of us ordered and then he started to pick up all the food by the time we were ordering there was nothing out and he told us sorry I threw everything away!!!! We were right in line right right in front of his face! I could absolutely NOT believe it!!! When we told him how?? You seen us here . He shrugged his shoulders and said I don’t know what to tell you ??‍?

Excellent bowls! We ordered 2 for carry out. They were fresh and ready when we picked up and were delicious!Food: 5/5

I used to love this place. It was always so good and right amount of sauce. Not anymore though, unfortunately the last 2 times I've ordered their food, my bowl is wrong. Like completely incorrect.Today I ordered 2 bowls and 1 of them was correct, the 2nd was NOT.They added shredded tofu and edamame to my bowl despite not being on the ticket. I counted there was over 30 edamame beans in my small bowl that wasn't meant to have ANY. What's the most frustrating thing is that it was an online order so no there was no confusion possible. Secondly about it being an online order, I placed it to be finished at 12:30 and with seconds of placing the order at 12:07 it said they finished the order. So they rushed it, made it incorrectly and let it sit on a counter for the half hour until I got there.2 months ago I would have recommended this place to anyone but unfortunately not anymore. I'm sad to no longer want to be a customer. I will find other poke places to eat.

So Disappointed. Being from Hawaii, I was excited to finally try this location. I placed my order online very impressed on how fast the food came out but upon entering the restaurant, I realize that they were not busy at all. I should’ve known based off a menu this might be a hit or miss. I wasn’t expecting a variety of fresh pokey like you do in the islands. . I ordered the spicy tuna., shrimp thought I would try the chicken and beef in their large bowl, and it was so far from any pokey I’ve ever had. Spicy tuna was mush, and the shrimp actually had no flavor. My partner got the combo curry and if we weren’t so far away, I would’ve come back to let them know, but all I got was a beef entrée and no combo. The pickled ginger was overwhelming. I ended up getting their Wassabi soy sauce and I wasn’t quite sure what it was. But wasabi was so strong and overwhelming and there was an oily consistency to it. Your guess is as good as mine. This did not make me feel like I was at home at all and unfortunately I will never be back.

This place was so old I always think about it when I'm craving sushi because it's like a giant bowl of sushi that you can customize to your liking and they have old portions for the price! If you don't like raw fish they have options for cooked meats as well.
