Bidrage med feedbackGreat biryani's. Cozy place at the heart of Indian street. P.S 5% discount if paid in cash.
I ended up coming here on someone's recommendation and do I regret it?! NO : Persis is my new favorite food joint on the Indian street. So far I have tried the following 1 daal tadka tastes out of the world! 2 garlic naan fresh and hot! 3 chicken biryani was good! 4 andhra chicken curry yummm! Ask for spicy if you're really into spicy food! You'll go crazy 5 chicken mughlai I was mind blown with the very first bit I tried! Hats off the chef! The portions are good enough. And the base taste of curry is so good and distinctively different than other Indian restaurants on the block. PS might look dull from outside, but like they say, never judge a book by its cover. Step in and go for the kill!
I've been to many Indian and Eastern eateries around the world. Persis food is one of the best. Its meals are all full of magnificent favor. The taste last long after you've finished the meal. The staff is extremely hospitable and always willing to over please and personally accommodate you. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
Awesome food! Nice place and nice service. We ordered the food online and requested to-go since it was almost closing time. The food was super hot and tasty (unlike most to-gos), the people were so nice they stayed back beyond the closing time just to deliver the food by hand to us. All the curries were great, and I was specially impressed by the Naans being so soft. There are many other Indian restaurants on that street that we tried, but Persis is the best- great taste, service, quality and quantity. Thumbs Up.
The tandoori and biryani dishes at Parsis are delicious. After a Halloween night in NYC, we were looking for a restaurant on Indian Street (Newark Ave) that was open. Few were open, but we decided to try Parsis instead of our original plan to go to Biryani Pot. The seating area is small and a bit congested, making it difficult to move around, but we managed to find a spot. The restaurant was not very busy, with only a few tables occupied. We ordered goat biryani, chicken biryani, and tangdi kabab. The prices were reasonable. The biryanis were fantastic, some of the best on the street or comparable to Biryani Pot. We requested the tangdi kabab to be spicy, and it definitely delivered on the heat. Even though the salt was a bit low, the food was still delicious. We were completely satisfied with our meal, even though it was closing time. We also received a 10% discount for checking in on Yelp. The service was good. Tip: Parking is free if you contact the restaurant ahead of time.
