Bidrage med feedbackThis place has fallen off since last year , to confirm the review about bringing the old staff back . I ordered the street corn and it was bland like they didn’t season the corn at all and just slathered on the mayo/cheese . When I asked for it to be taken off the bill , the server says he doesn’t have the authority to remove it from the bill . no refund, and conveniently no manager was on duty on a Friday night
BRING THE OLD STAFF BACK !!!! I’ve been coming here for a while regularly. I’ve even had a small baby shower outside in the back. My family is very familiar with this place and owner, even had my uncles picture on the wall at one point. Since they remodeled and hired new staff, I no longer feel as excited to eat here as I did. The food was great as always! However, the service my family received was so poor. Our server’s name was Gustavo, he seemed more interested in talking with his friends at the bar and texting than serving us. He never checked on us, we had to keep reminding him multiple times to get us the things we’ve asked for, then he’d get it and go right back to chit chatting and texting. I could understand if the place was busy and it just slipped his mind but we were the only ones in the restaurant! So no excuse. On top of that my 1 year old accidentally spilled his food on the floor, and before I can even ask for napkins he comes to us and goes “try not to drop anything else on the floor cause….Yeah.” Big no for me. They need the old staff back or train these new ones. UPDATE: so today is 9/13/22 and they have a new server who is sooo amazing and sweet I forgot his name unfortunately but I so happen to come in on his first day on the job on Friday and he was great! He even knew the menu and specials by heart we even had to ask if it was really his first day cause that’s how awesome he was !
Stumbled upon this restaurant because I had a taste for Mexican food but wanted to avoid a Saturday night crowd. Nice decor, attentive servers. Ordered a mojito, tostones and a mixed grill dish. The mojito was among the best I've ever had. The tostones were out of this world. Full disclosure, I normally prefer my platanos yellow, sweet and slightly burnt. The tostones were crisp and the garlic sauce slapped! Glad I followed that impulse to order them. The mixed grill was steak, pork and chicken with yellow rice and black beans. Rice and beans were delicious; meats were good but I would have liked the chicken and steak to have had a bit more char on them. Even though the meal was not perfect (9/10), I would return in a heartbeat.
Just enjoyed a great dinner here with my daughter and son-in-law! I had Adelita’s kiss for a cocktail. My daughter and son-in-law shared a pitcher of red Sangria. We had beef carnitas nachos for appetizer. I had a shrimp taco and spiced pork taco both traditional style. My daughter and son-in-law shared shrimp tostadas. For dessert we shared churros with strawberries, strawberry ice cream, and drizzle of chocolate syrup. We had great service with good Spanish language music playing and great atmosphere and decor.
We ordered enchiladas, tacos, and quesadillas to eat. The tacos were a bit dry, the enchiladas verdes were good and SPICY. When I say SPICY I mean picante. I am Mexican and felt the heat. The quesadillas are made with flour tortillas, that is not a true quesadillas. They used yellow american cheese and not sure if it was intended or they were short on the regular queso fresco or what. I tried the margarita on the rocks and felt it strong. I will go back and try it again since I want to have a go to Mexican restaurant near my house without having to go to Jackson heights. We will see next time if this gets better
