The Rook - Ithaca

Visiting the area and celebrating our anniversary, we searched google for a steakhouse and it lead us here. We passed other chain steakhouses to eat local food. Google was wrong. This is not a steakhouse. A ?happy accident? I guess. Food was good. They have a very limited menu. Servings were on the small size for the price but we were satisfied overall with the meal. Would I go here again if we were in the area? Not sure. Service was fine. Overall it was a good experience.

It's a cute small spot w/a limited menu. The duck fries were pretty good. The duck frite chicken was good but I wasn't into the taste of the blanched collard greens. The cocktails we ordered weren't worth the price. I was not a fan. The cocktail my bf ordered was slightly better than mine. If you sit outside, you'll likely encounter beggars asking for money they'll keep circling around.

A hidden treasure! They serve amazing southern comfort dishes and the cocktails are amazing. Get the duck fat fries, my first time trying and i loved it. The fried chicken really hit the spot. I love the shrimp grits as well. The salad was one of the best. Refreshing and a good balance of tangy sweetness and savoriness.

Food was amazing, all of the flavors were matched perfectly with each dish. I had the summer pasta and my partner had the fried chicken, both were cooked perfectly and seasoned expertly. We also had the date appetizers and they were so unique but delicious! Cocktails were interesting and had good flavor. The waiter was also so friendly and had great timing. He didn?t hover over us but also was available when we wanted to order more. Great experience and I can?t wait to come back.

A wonderful small restaurant. Excellent staff, tasty food, and inventive cocktails. Highly recommended!
