No.1 Wok - Isle of Wight

The good; The prices are ok, especially for the 1/2 duck! The shredded chicken starter is delightful! Order was made in 10 minutes. The sauces taste good. The bad; The sauces are waaaaay too watery and very very runny. They need thickening up. The shredded chicken was only just warm and I was home in a couple of minutes. The Egg Fried rice is not great. Quite bland. So, mixed. But we’ll give No.1 Wok another go soon.

I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. This was by far the worst Chinese meal I have ever experienced. I spent £70 on an order that was completely cold. The hoi sin sauce for the duck was watered down. Several items were missing from my order. The beef in ginger with spring onion was terrible, with large chunks of ginger and a watery sauce. The salt and pepper chips were just a soggy mess of potatoes.

Ordered a delivery meal for family of 9 whilst on holiday. Website says 30-60 minutes. After 1 hour 10 we rang to be told the food was ready but they can’t tell us when it would get to us. 1 hour 30 it was on the way and 25 mins it got here. Missing a dish and replaced with chips. No discount no apology. Couldn’t be bothered to complain or wait another two hours. Luckily the food we did get was nice.

This was only my second time trying out No. 1 Wok, and I will not be going back. I had to wait over an hour for my delivery, and when it finally arrived, the chips were cold and overcooked. It looked like they had been sitting out for the entire hour I was waiting. Although there was plenty of chicken in the curry, it was very bland and lacked any real flavor. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience.
