Bidrage med feedbackGreat seafood, good service, dogs allowed in a part of the restaurant (further away from the sea view.) I want back. I need to learn what pan fried meagre means. it is stone bass, it is as always a much larger version of a sea bass filet
We were a party of 4 in front, but had two dinners in the trecastell. we felt a bit in the restaurant area in the bar, but in general eating was served timely, hot and tasty. we had all fish and chips in the first night, good portions and we all ate. had to remember missing brot and butter, which were due, a few slices of brot with 2 unread frozen butter leaves. in the second night we had a mixture of pigs, Gammon/Egg plus two chickens that were good. we would eat there again if we were to come back.
Last Sunday, we stopped by for drinks and were pleasantly surprised to discover they had a Sunday carvery. The staff was very polite, helpful, and attentive. We had already eaten, so we weren't hungry until it finished at 4 o'clock. It's a shame it's not advertised on their website. If we were local, we would definitely be regulars as the food looked amazing. Thanks to the staff for a lovely afternoon and making us feel well taken care of.
We were recommended The Trecastell for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. Firstly; the location. It enjoys superb views of Bull Bay from the conservatory; we had booked ahead and requested a table by the window to make the most of the views. Secondly;...the staff. A smile and greeting on arrival. Table service to order drinks (I love that). Drinks delivered with a smile politely asked us to wait until we were invited to the carvery. Chef greeted us with genuine interest (not easy when you’ve said the same thing 30 times already today and offered a good choice of meats and serve yourself veg, sauces, etc. Thirdly, the food. Beyond scrumptious!! I had pork and turkey and my husband pork and beef. Delicious home made Yorkshire puds and stuffing balls like my Nan used to make. Roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots, (cooked perfectly) we’re matched by broccoli, cauliflower cheese and mash. A good selection of sauces and lashings of quality gravy set it all off a treat. I’m sorry I can’t comment on desserts as we didn’t indulge after such a flavoursome dinner. Be mindful that the carvery finished at 4pm when we were there. Would we recommend to others and return ourselves? Hell, YES!!
As happy we would have passed this hotel when looking for a place to eat. kitchen closed at 2.30 and we were very close! but there was no problem ordering a meal. we sat in the winter garden with beautiful views over the bay. service was excellent and so was the food and the location.
